La Carrata

 HISTORY OF WINE

Farmer’s family living in our area used to store the precious wine obtained each year, and jealously kept for family consumption, in small wooden barrels known in ancient times as ‘carrate’. La Carrata celebrates our oldest winemaking traditions. This bottle is vinified from a prestigious selection of Montepulciano grapes and follows a patient ageing period in steel and, subsequently, in wood in modern carrate today better known as ‘barriques’. We have scrupulously researched the best wood (French Oak), the ideal tostature and the right time to age the wine so that the identity traits of the wine-evolution were never overwhelmed by the woody imprint.
