La Grondaia

 HISTORY OF WINE


As a gutter collects the water that comes down from the sky (the rain), so we collect in our label La Grondaia the genuine fruit of what every year nature, with its different climatic conditions gives us in our most selected vineyard, where we have planted an extremely peculiar clone of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. Vinification of this clone wants to preserve the authentic profile of grape variety and vintages characteristics, without ageing in wood.

  • WINE TYPE: Red Wine
  • WINE CLASSIFICATION: Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC
  • GRAPE VARIETY: 100% Montepulciano d’Abruzzo
  • VINIFICATION: Crushing, fermentative maceration at a controlled temperature for 15-20 days in stainless steel tanks, soft pressing. Ageing: 36 months in stainless steel vat, then at least 6 months in bottle
  • SENSORY PROFILE: Ruby red with violet reflections. Complex bouquet, red fruit with spicy notes. Elegant, decisive palate with good body; finely balanced tannins, good persistence
  • SERVING TEMPERATURE: 16-18°C
  • FOOD PAIRING: First courses, cut of meat, roasts and grilled or baked meat, aged cheeses
